Orange Sunrise Rotary partners with Corazon, constructing homes in Baja and Northern Mexico. Mexican families earn their homes through their own hard work with the Corazon organization. In July of 2008, Rotarians traveled to Tijuana to build a home in a single day!
In September of 2009, Rotarians returned to the Cumbres area of Tijuana to complete a room addition for the Bautista Castro family. Working with the family and friends of Mark & Cindy Stephens under the supervision of experienced Corazon staff, Orange Sunrise members nearly doubled the size of the wood frame structure. Orange Sunrise is committed to Corazon and plans to return to Mexico each fall.
Since 2002, Orange Sunrise Rotary has partnered with Rotary clubs in Mexico, obtaining grant funding for surgeries and hearing aids desperately needed by Mexican children. Through these Rotarian partnerships, children have received cleft palate surgery and vision correction surgery.
Orange Sunrise works to improve the lives of children through direct support of orphanages in Mexico and Myanmar (Burma).
The club holds an annual "baby shower" to collect clothing, shoes, toys and supplies for the Door of Faith Orphanage in Mexico.
Orange Sunrise also supports the Myanmar water project, which has built 11 self-contained water systems for orphanages in that country.
